Drop in your
raw footage.
talk.mp4, 41 seconds, pauses and all. Then ask your agent for the cut.
It cuts the
dead air.
Word-timed transcripts, made on your machine, show it every pause.
It captions
every word.
You make
the final call.
Trim, move, undo anything. Then export, frame by frame, on your computer.
Everything on that timeline is one file on your disk.
When your agent trims a clip, it edits a line of index.tsx. When you drag the same clip, Zylcut edits the same line. There is never a second copy of your edit.
- Same file, both ways. Agent edits and your edits land in one place.
- Undo anything. Every change is one undo step, whoever made it.
- Plain text. Diff it, commit it, back it up like code.

Bring the agent you already pay for.
Zylcut does not ship its own AI. One command connects it to the coding agents on your machine over MCP, and the agent opens Zylcut when it needs it.

Your agent gets real tools for footage, not just a text file. It reads a transcript instead of guessing, and it looks at frames before it tells you it is done. Pick a tool to see what it gets back.

Every word has a start and end time, so a cut lands between words, never inside one.
The agent sees where the dead air is before it touches the edit.
It renders real frames of your edit and checks the captions sit where they should.

Hours of footage, searched by meaning, on your own computer.
Results come with their licence, and the agent credits them for you.
"Your agent cuts. You direct. And it all stays on your machine."
Generated on your machine, timed to the words so visuals can follow the voice.
Frame by frame with the ffmpeg built into Zylcut. No upload, no queue.
Your footage never leaves your computer.
Zylcut transcribes, cuts and exports on your machine, so there is nothing to upload and nothing to wait for. It only goes online when you ask it to, like searching for stock footage.
Your account is just your email and your trial dates. It never sees a frame of your work. Read the privacy policy.

Questions
The short answers. If yours is not here, ask us.
Or in the app, choose Help > Report a Problem. It gathers the details and shows you everything before you send it.
How much does Zylcut cost?
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial with everything included. Plans for after the trial are coming, and nothing is ever charged without your agreement. The AI work runs on the coding agent you already use, under that agent's own plan.
Why do I need an account?
Your account holds your trial, and later your plan. It is only your email: your footage and projects never touch it. Sign in with Google or with a code we email you, no password needed.
Which agents work with it?
Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor and Gemini CLI are set up with one command. Any other agent that speaks MCP can connect too.
Do I need an agent at all?
No. Zylcut is a full editor on its own, with a timeline, canvas, inspector and code editor. The agent is there when you want it to do the tedious parts.
Is my footage uploaded anywhere?
No. Transcription, editing and export all run on your computer. Zylcut only goes online when you ask for something online, like stock footage or music, and your account never sees your projects.
Which computers does it run on?
macOS on Apple silicon, Windows 10 and 11 (x64), and Linux (AppImage or .deb).
macOS says the app cannot be opened. What now?
Zylcut is not notarized by Apple yet. Open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, and choose Open Anyway next to Zylcut. You only do this once.
Windows says it protected my PC. What now?
The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen warns about it. Click More info, then Run anyway. You only do this once.
What is a composition?
Your edit, written as a JSX file called index.tsx in your project folder. You never have to read it, but because it is plain text, an agent can change it precisely and you can keep it in git.
Your footage.
Your agent.
Your machine.
Free for 14 days, for macOS, Windows and Linux. Version 0.8.0.
